Kos Evans Rock & Royals Exhibition

The exhibition includes works created from sails donated by some of the most iconic figures in modern history. Some pieces that will be on exhibit include, President John F. Kennedy’s sail from the yacht Manitou, preserved since 1962; a championship-winning sail gifted personally by King Juan Carlos of Spain; a mizzen sail from the Royal yacht Bloodhound, donated by the Royal Yacht Britannia Trust in honor of the Duke of Edinburgh; two sails donated by Pete Townshend of The Who, from his beloved yacht Serenade; and sail donated by Wendy Schmidt from Santana, a yacht previously owned by Humphrey Bogart. The collection also features a sail from Prince Albert II of Monaco’s flagship yacht Tuiga, and a fragment of the 1927 sail from the world’s largest wooden sailing yacht, Creole, now under the guardianship of Allegra Gucci.

The Rock & Royals exhibition during Nantucket Race Week offers a rare opportunity to experience these historic works in person. The exhibition will be free and open to the public beginning August 13 at the Thomas Macy Warehouse.
